Amrane Cohen

Amrane Cohen, Chapter 13 Trustee Amrane Cohen was appointed trustee for the San Bernardino (now Riverside) Division of the Central District of California in October 1993 and subsequently administered the combined caseload in San Bernardino and Santa Ana. Riverside cases were split off and assigned to Trustee Rod Danielson. Amrane Cohen received his BA in Economics from UCLA in 1975, and after a stint as a Merrill Lynch stockbroker, came back in 1978 to the UCLA Graduate School of Management. He graduated with an MBA in Finance and Information Systems in 1980. From 1980 to 1985, Amrane worked as a consultant for the accounting firm then known as Coopers & Lybrand, where he became a Manager in the Management Consulting practice. Amrane joined Ticor Realty Tax Services in 1985 as a Senior Vice President/Operations and worked there until 1991. At the time of the acquisition of Ticor Realty by First American Title Company, he was Chief Operating Officer and Chief Information Officer. Amrane has been actively involved with the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees (NACTT )since his appointment as a Standing Trustee. He served as chair of the NACTT Peer Review Committee, the Joint NACTT/United States Trustee Program committee on Security Reports, and the NACTT’s Standing Trustee Alliance for Computer Security (STACS) committee. He has held every position on the NACTT Executive Committee, from Treasurer to President of the Association. Amrane has spoken on Chapter 13 issues in a variety of settings, including NACTT seminars, the Department of Justice National Advocacy Center, regional programs organized by the United States Trustee Program, brown bag lunches in both Orange and Riverside Counties, and to the bankruptcy classes of Judges Barr and Albert at Chapman University. He is currently serving as the Treasurer of the NACTT Academy for Consumer Bankruptcy Education (www.consider13.org). Amrane has been married since 1972 and has one adult daughter.
