I joined NACBA in the mid-90s and have been a member since then. I am a founder of the Central District Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys Association in Los Angeles. I chair the bankruptcy section of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association which is located in Los Angeles.

I limit my practice to bankruptcy work, primarily chapter 11 reorganization, locally in California and around the country. I believe most attorneys who practice chapter 11 reorganization get it wrong. They look at these cases as legal matters. However, must chapter 11s are not caused by a failure of a statute; they are caused by failures of the business, failures of leadership, failures to maintain financial books and records, operational problems and often, psychological or emotional issues that hurt a business. Fix the underlying problems and the chapter 11 case will work a lot better. As lawyers, we are not normally trained to handle these problems.

My office is located in Los Angeles; I travel the country for my clients.
